Kimberly Allen, BA, Cer. A.T.T. is the program director of The Johns Hopkins Hospital / Community College of Baltimore County anesthesia technology program. She also is a member of the American Society of Technicians and Technologists and serves on their board of education. Ms. Allen graduated summa cum laude from Strayer University with a bachelor degree in business administration. She has been an Anesthesia Technologist since 2012 and has served as the supervisor of Johns Hopkins Hospital anesthesia technicians and technologists. Under Ms. Allen’s supervision the anesthesia technician / technologist division grew by leaps and bounds; she advocated for role differentiation, salary increase, as well as inter-disciplinary partnerships.
Ms. Allen’s expertise includes serving five years as a surgical technician at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, specializing in Neuro / Ortho-Spine. She served eight years as an anesthesia technician at The Johns Hopkins Hospital specializing in: adult endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac interventional radiology. Ms. Allen has held specialties in central line placement, equipment set-up, and critical care percutaneous tracheostomy placement. She was awarded anesthesia technician of the year from The Johns Hopkins Hospital and won the education award from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians. Ms. Allen spearheaded a project to reorganize Johns Hopkins anesthesia carts in an effort of cost containment and operating room waste reduction. She is committed and dedicated to The Johns Hopkins Hospital / Community College of Baltimore County anesthesia technology program.
