Dr. Steve Beaudry selected as Vice Chair of Bayview Division of Anesthesia

Dr. Beaudry is serving as the Vice Chair for our Bayview Division of Anesthesia as Dr. Tangwan Azefor has transitioned to the Division Chief role. Dr. Steven Beaudry completed residency training in anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins followed by fellowship training in obstetric anesthesia at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He has been an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins since 2015 and is currently the Medical Director of Obstetric Anesthesia at Johns Hopkins Bayview. In recognition of the ever-increasing role of regional anesthesia techniques in both obstetric and non-obstetric surgeries, Steven completed subsequent fellowship training in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine at Johns Hopkins. He works clinically in both the obstetric and regional anesthesia divisions of ACCM.

Steven has held multiple leadership roles within ACCM including educational director of the obstetric anesthesia resident rotation at JHH and Bayview, and Assistant Residency Program Director from 2017 to 2019, during which time he received the departmental Rising Faculty and Resident Advocate awards. Dr. Beaudry is interested in developing clinical pathways that optimize intra- and post-operative care for obstetric patients having surgery including cesarean delivery and high risk maternal-fetal surgery. His clinical and research interests include optimization of the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) pathway in the obstetric population, with an emphasis on the utilization of regional anesthesia techniques for postoperative analgesia.
