Kaitlyn Vaughn, MSN, CRNA, is a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) for the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree at York College of Pennsylvania, where she received a bachelor of science as well as an outstanding student award from the nursing department. She also competed on the women’s soccer team, becoming a four-year member of the Capital Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. After three years in the medical intensive care unit as a clinical II registered nurse at the University of Maryland Medical Center, she completed her master of science in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, commencing her career as a CRNA. While at Penn, Kaitlyn embarked on a medical mission trip to Guatemala to administer anesthesia for a general surgical team. She has a special interest in continuing medical mission trips in the future.
Kaitlyn served as the co-leader for the Johns Hopkins CRNA online journal club and in June of 2018 she became an exclusive member of the pediatric anesthesia team. Caring for children has become a true passion for Kaitlyn and from 2020-2022 she served as the Pediatric Lead CRNA and again in 2024. She is also an active member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, for which she has served as an undergraduate scholarship award reviewer.
