National CRNA Week (Jan. 21-27) is time to honor and recognize the teamwork, dedication, and exemplary care of our Nurse Anesthetists who work across our health care system – All Children’s, Bayview Medical Center, Howard County Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Nurse anesthesiology traces back to the 1860s with caring for and stabilizing soldiers during the Civil War. Today, hospitals and health systems in rural areas rely on CRNAs who represent more than 80% of anesthesia providers. Here in our Department, we are enthusiastic to celebrate our 160 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and their contributions to patient care and safety. These dedicated professionals are an integral part of operations who have fearlessly remained on the frontlines through and following a global pandemic.
We look forward to celebrating this week with our CRNA colleagues. Events are being hosted all week at each campus and our ACCM leadership team will be providing lunch at each location too. A small token of gratitude for continued dedication, resilience, and steadfast care for our patients and trusted colleagues.
Please take the opportunity to say a well-deserved thank you to our CRNAs.
Happy CRNA Week to you all – enjoy the celebrations!
