Sapna Kudchadkar, MD, PhD and Jim Fackler, MD were awarded a Johns Hopkins Discovery Award for their proposal entitled “Automated Sedation State Assessment for Improved Sedation Decisions Using Machine Learning and Low-cost Accelerometry,” a collaborative project with the School of Engineering and the School of Nursing.
Accomplishments and Honors
The Johns Hopkins Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team was named one of The Daily Record’s 2023 Health Care Heroes honorees.
Michael Banks, MD MEHP received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Johns Hopkins University School of Education at the 2023 Graduation Ceremony. This award recognizes alumni who epitomize the Johns Hopkins tradition of excellence and bring credit to the university by their personal accomplishment, professional achievement, or humanitarian service.
Mary Beth Brady, MD FASE served as chair for the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting and Workshops in Portland, Oregon. The meeting is the flagship meeting for this society. In her role, Dr. Brady with the members of the SCA Scientific Program Committee created, developed, and produced the entire meeting. Specifically, Dr. Brady opened the meeting by moderating the Refresher Course Lectures. Additionally, she moderated the plenary session, False Discoveries — How Research Design and Analysis Influences Anesthesia Knowledge and the plenary session entitled Celebrating 45 years of SCA! Past, Present and (you are!) the Future, which was a once in a lifetime session, incorporating 7 past or present SCA presidents. Finally, Dr. Brady moderated Beginner Course in Structural Heart Echocardiography – Learn Today, Use Tomorrow! Dr Brady will serve as chair for the SCA 2024 meeting in Toronto, Canada.
