Dr. M-Irfan Suleman has been promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. Since joining the department in 2016, Dr. Suleman has worked tirelessly to build and direct the Multidisciplinary Pediatric Pain Program, a partnership between Johns Hopkins and the Kennedy Krieger Rehabilitation Institute. Each year, this innovative clinic helps more than 250 children and adolescents from Maryland and beyond to manage chronic pain without the use of narcotics. Dr. Suleman is also the founding Director of the Pediatric Interventional Pain Program for acute and chronic pain at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. Beyond his efforts at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Suleman is widely known for his leadership in the Society for Pediatric Pain Medicine and for the educational workshops and seminars that he gives regionally, nationally, and internationally.
