Nick Dalesio, MD, was nominated by Baltimore Top Doctors for the subspecialty of pediatric anesthesia.

Steve Frank, MD, was featured in a Johns Hopkins Dome article for his ongoing efforts to eliminate unnecessary blood transfusions and optimize blood use for patients who do require one. His efforts have improved patient care, saved money, and helped to ensure adequate blood supply for those who need it. The story can be found here.

Robert Greenberg, MD, participated in a 2-day training course called Pediatric Disaster Response and Emergency Preparedness at the National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center, Department of Homeland Security & Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Anita Gupta, DO, MPP, PharmD, was named one of the Top 10 Women of Influence for 2021 by Fierce Healthcare.

Marie Hanna, MD, MEHP, presented at ASRA on persistent postsurgical pain and at the Midwest Pain Society on the Personalized Pain Program.

Hassan Rayaz, MD, presented Grand Rounds at Mercy Medical Center on “Opioid-Free Anesthesia: Multimodal Therapy in the OR.”

Kate Rosenblatt, MD, was appointed to the editorial board of Critical Care Explorations, the official open access journal of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Her appointment is for 3 years and will begin in 2022.

Ronen Shechter, MD, gave a talk at the 17^th World Congress of Anesthesiologists titled “A Novel Perioperative Program to Address the Opioid Crisis” and a talk at the World Congress on Primary Healthcare and Medicare Summit titled “Personalized Pain Program- A Window of Opportunity.” He also was a speaker at the International Webinar on Otorhinolaryngology, where he delivered a talk on the “Personalized Perioperative Pain Program.”

Kara Segna, MD, was selected as one of 24 faculty members to serve as a Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Interprofessional Collaborative Practice Physician Exemplar. In this position, she will act as a physician role model for pre- and post-licensure learners in nursing, medicine, pharmacy, and public health.

Eellan Sivanesan, MD, was a speaker at the ASRA Chronic Pain Annual Meeting, where he presented “Spinal Cord Stimulation: Excellent Tool for the Right Patient/Role of Glial Cell Activation and its Use in Clinical Practice.” Additionally, he was workshop faculty for the Hands-on Fluoroscopy Workshops: Neuromodulation Beginner and Advanced Neuromodulation (Advanced Course).

Robert Stevens, MD, spoke at the Intensive Care Society State of the Art Conference on December 7th, 2021. The title of his talk was “Delivering on Artificial Intelligence in Intensive Care Medicine.” He is also co-chairing phase 2 of the Coma Science Scientific Working Group of the Neurocritical Care Society’s Curing Coma Campaign.

Jed Wolpaw, MD, MEd, gave two talks at Vanderbilt this month. He spoke to the residents on December 9 about “A Case of Unexplained Acidosis in the ICU.” The next day he presented a talk at grand rounds titled “Reimagining Residency: What Should Training Look Like for Today’s Adult Learners?”
