Dr. Klompas is a Cardiac Anesthesiologist who also completed a Transfusion Medicine/Blood Banking fellowship before joining the staff at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. His clinical and research interests focus on patient blood management, bloodless surgery, and perioperative anticoagulation & transfusion support. Outside of work he is an avid cyclist, guitarist, and tries to get outdoors whenever possible.

  • Appreciate the proposed benefits of cold stored platelets for treating bleeding patients and bolstering supply.
