Dr. Sapna Kudchadkar was honored as one of three finalists for this year’s President’s Frontier Award. Each year, Johns Hopkins selects one recipient for the award in a university-wide competition. The award recognizes individuals with significant scholarly achievement whose work holds great promise for the future. With the PICU Up! program that she developed, Dr. Kudchadkar is working to improve neurocognitive, psychosocial, and physical outcomes of children admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit. Interventions include reducing sedative use, improving sleep hygiene, increasing physical activity, and enhancing family involvement. Being a finalist for this award is a great achievement and very rare for a clinical investigator. See more at https://research.jhu.edu/major-initiatives/presidents-frontier-awards/awardees/.
