“Shout Outs” from Residents to Attendings

This is just a small window into the gratitude that our residents have for the amazing mentorship, teaching and support our attending physicians provide to our trainees. Thank you for all that you do!
Shout out to Dr. Nate Wright. Dr. Wright gave some of the best, timely, and actionable feedback that changed my daily practices, in interviewing patients, charting, and setting up my OR.
Shout out to Dr. Stuart Pasch. He is a pleasure to work with in the OR. He really pushed me about the “why” behind my choices of anesthetic while allowing flexibility to try new things.
Shout out to Dr. Giulia Sikorski. I had the privilege of working with Dr. Giulia Sikorski in JHOC recently. She was calm, approachable, and checked in frequently on both me and the patient. I learned a great deal about maintaining a calm head under pressure and am very much looking forward to working with her again in the future.
Shout out to Dr. Robert Sikorski. He is knowledgeable, dependable in emergencies, and clearly passionate about education. We have much to learn from him.
Shout-out to Drs. Kellie Jaremko and Kayvon Mobarakeh. I recently found myself on the other side of the drape as a patient and had the good fortune of being cared for by them. They explained my options very clearly and made sure I was as comfortable as possible throughout the entire process. I was also genuinely impressed by their technical skill and needle manipulation.
I want to shoutout Dr. Hu! She is one of my favorite attendings to work with. Her clinical knowledge is superb, and her teaching skills are great! I had a busy call with her and she was so helpful, provided the correct amount of autonomy and always suggested great, new ideas to think about for call.
Shout out Dr. Rosenblatt! Besides her brilliance and clinical acumen, she’s a wonderful and intentional teacher. I always learn something from her that I can incorporate into my clinical practice. Beyond this, her patient bedside manner is great to look at and replicate.
Shout out to Jake Blum. Shout out to Jake Blum for being such a great cardiac fellow. He is patient, helpful, and kind – and such a good teacher! It’s always a great day with Jake, no matter what the 5th floor throws at you.
Thanks to Dr. Alyson Russo! Had a great day working in her in what was a very interesting surgical case. I appreciated her preop the day prior and the insight she provided throughout the day, the med students I were with also were very appreciative of her teaching.
Shout out to Dr. Archana Hudson! I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Hudson in JHOC. She provided the perfect balance of autonomy, teaching, and support. This all translated to efficient, smooth, and safe outpatient care. Thank you!
Shout out to Dr. Nami! I worked with Dr. Nami a few times at Wilmer during my ambulatory month. Dr. Nami was present and we had efficient and productive communications to provide safe and smooth care in fast-paced Wilmer.
Shout out to Dr. Sam Chung! Dr. Chung is one of the smartest, most helpful, and most pleasant attendings to work with! Dr. Chung cares about our education, he asks us if we have any goals for the day. I appreciate the perfect balance between autonomy and support.
Shout out to Dr. Lizbeth Hu! I recently worked with Dr. Hu in a fast-paced JHOC room with 6 cases scheduled. I am so inspired and impressed by Dr. Hu! She communicates really well, she is present, attentive to details, and super supportive.
Shout out to Dr. Thai Nguyen! I recently had a non-stop 24-h call with Dr. Nguyen. Dr. Nguyen is very intelligent, experienced, and thorough with his chart reviews and clinical assessments. He was diligent and plan ahead in order to provide the best care for patients.
Shout out to the Snowstorm Team! Shout out to Dr. Muehlschlegel, Dr. Wolpaw, Dr. Mintz, Scott, Emmanuel, Diane, for all their incredible hard work during this snowstorm! You all worked around the clock to make sure everyone was taken care of.
Shout out to Dr. Segna and Dr. Barnhart! I had a very meaningful and educational time on my Bayview Regional Rotation. Not only are they excellent at what they are doing, they are fantastic teachers and fun people to work with.
Shout out to Dr. Rizkalla! Every single time I worked with Dr. Rizkalla, I am amazed by her work ethics, her dedication to patient care, and her clinical knowledge. Besides being a great teacher, she is also very patient, kind, and thoughtful.
Shout out to regional fellows Chang and Alina! I worked with Chang and Alina over winter break. They are both so skilled and are great teachers! They are super helpful, supportive, and pleasant to work with! Thank you!

The award was established by generous gifts from appreciative ACCM attendings to recognize one resident in each class per quarter who goes above and beyond in their efforts to care for patients and to help support their colleagues. Thanks to the generous support of our faculty, the award comes with an honorarium for each resident.

The winners of this quarter’s MVP award are individuals who work incredibly hard, are always willing to stay late to help a colleague or volunteer to be there for anyone who needs it. They have volunteered their time outside of work to improve the program and always have positive can-do attitudes that lift the spirits of those around them.
