Mike Wang is a graduate research assistant at Johns Hopkins University pursuing an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in neuroengineering and biomedical instrumentation under Dr. Nitish Thakor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Software Engineering from McGill University. Mike’s research focuses on motor unit development and its application in neural prosthetics, including chronic studies of vascularized deinnervated muscle targets. He has experience with machine learning, signal processing, and embedded systems, and has contributed to multiple publications on neuroprosthetics and muscle reinnervation. Mike has also worked as a teaching assistant in rehabilitation engineering and machine learning for signal processing, and held research roles at Tsinghua University and McGill’s Broadband Communications Research Lab.
