We are pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Salia Farrokh to Associate Professor on the Clinical Excellence Track in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. Since joining Johns Hopkins in 2016, Dr. Farrokh has established herself as a nationally recognized expert in neurocritical care pharmacotherapy, with expertise in the management of neurological emergencies, anticoagulation reversal, and optimization of medication therapy for critically ill neurological patients. Her clinical innovations, including protocols for stroke care, intracranial hemorrhage reversal, and neurocritical care medication management, have improved patient care at Johns Hopkins and have been adopted by institutions across the country.

Dr. Farrokh is a dedicated educator and mentor who has developed educational programs for pharmacy residents, medical students, and neurocritical care fellows, and she regularly teaches at regional, national, and international conferences. She has made significant scholarly contributions through publications, national presentations, and educational initiatives, including founding a widely utilized neurocritical care educational podcast. Her expertise is recognized nationally through her leadership roles in the Neurocritical Care Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine, as well as numerous awards recognizing her clinical excellence and contributions to the field. Currently, she is serving as the only pharmacist on the Board of Directors of the Neurocritical Care Society.
