Huge congratulations to our Pediatric Anesthesia and Pain Medicine teams who represented JHCC and ACCM STRONG in Denver. So many panel speakers, workshop leaders, symposia and posters, not to mention our own Dr. Vecchione as the Program Co-Chair for SPPM Annual Meeting, Dr. Goswami as Program Co-Chair for the CCAS Annual Meeting and Dr. Barnes as the Program Shadow for this SPA Spring Meeting.
Two big announcements to share made by SPA President Dr. McNaull on the last day of the meeting:
- Dr. Kristen Penberthy is this year’s recipient of the SPA Young Investigator’s Award, for her project “Effects of Cerebral Hypoperfusion on CNS Lymphatics: Novel Mechanisms of Post-Cardiac Arrest Brain Injury”
- Dr. Emmett Whitaker was nominated by the SPA Nominating Committee for a 2-year term as Secretary/Treasurer on the SPA Executive Committee. This positions progresses through the Executive Committee.
Our fellows shined and our anesthesia residents led the way in the student and trainee section. It was also wonderful catching up with so many of our amazing alums who are doing awesome things across the country.
