ACCM APPLAUSE

Reminder: ACCM Applause is a place for us to celebrate our colleagues for the outstanding work they do every day. Do you know someone who deserves recognition? Click here to give them an Applause!

To our amazing anesthesia techs: Sheila Spence, Jen Cordon, Khariah Kosh, Koshia Phillips, and Paulette Wright

This is long overdue, but there was a disaster on the labor and delivery floor in April that deserves some special attention and recognition. During the case, a patient crashed onto ECMO in emergent fashion just following the delivery of her newborn. I am proud to say that our techs were unbelievable (and completely irreplaceable) in that situation. They were calm, collected and knew exactly how to help get this patient what she needed so she could move on to her next stage of recovery. The environment was chaotic and everyone in the room was on edge, but that didn’t phase our techs. We truly couldn’t have performed without them! The patient would never have had the chance to meet her baby without the hard work and expertise of our techs that day. We cannot thank you enough for the exceptional effort you put in every day, but especially on this day. — Jake Blum
