Shannon Segres Yorkman, DNP, MS, MSN, CRNA is the Primary clinical instructor for our anesthesia technology students. Shannon also serves as the primary CRNA for the Brain Stimulation Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is the former Lead Nurse Anesthetist of Neuroanesthesia and serves as a clinical instructor for student registered nurse anesthetists at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She frequently serves in the role of CRNA Facilitator.
She attended the University of South Carolina-Columbia where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing, concentrating in Health Systems Management at Johns Hopkins University. Shannon completed her Master of Science specializing in Nurse Anesthesia at The University of Maryland. She also has a Post-Master’s Certification focused on the Teaching of Nurses and Health Professionals.
Among her professional activities, Shannon has served as the Vice President, Education Committee Chair, and SRNA Representative of the Maryland Association of Nurse Anesthetists. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, Maryland Association of Nurse Anesthetists, and Maryland Nurses Association. She has served as the Maryland Association of Nurse Anesthetists Liaison to the Maryland Nurses Association. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. Shannon also mentors registered nurses, high school and college students who aspire to be Nurse Anesthetists.
