Dr. Kara Segna is a faculty member of Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine division in the department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins. She currently serves as Medical Director of Regional Anesthesia at Bayview Medical Center, as the Course Director for the TIME-Pain Course for the SOM, and served as former Regional Anesthesia Fellowship Director for 6 years. Dr. Segna’s NIH-funded research involves developing a novel medication for traumatic peripheral nerve injuries.
Among her leadership roles, Dr. Segna Co-chairs the Acute Pain Committee and the Scientific Research Abstract Committee for the American Academy of Pain Medicine. She also serves on the Education in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain committee for the American Society of Regional Anesthesiologists.
