Dr. Michael Grant is an assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Grant serves as the Head of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Component. His clinical expertise is in cardiac anesthesia, surgical critical care and acute pain medicine. Dr. Grant attended medical school at the University of Maryland followed by an intern year studying internal medicine at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Grant completed his residency in anesthesiology from Johns Hopkins as well as fellowships in surgical critical care and cardiac anesthesia. Currently, Dr. Grant is obtaining his Masters in Systems Engineering from the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering & Applied Physics Laboratory. His research interests include systems engineering, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), high risk perioperative medicine and perioperative transesophageal echocardiography. Dr. Grant is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and American Society of Enhanced Recovery.
