What We Do:

The birth of your child may be one of the most momentous occasions in your life. The goal of the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Fetal Anesthesia Division is to ensure that the delivery process is a positive and stress-free experience for mothers, families, and their new babies.  The Johns Hopkins OB Anesthesiologists are clinical experts in obstetric anesthesia providing effective pain relief and a wide range of anesthetic services to expecting mothers. The anesthesiologists in the division place epidurals and utilize general and other anesthetic techniques in the hospital’s Labor and Delivery suites and operating rooms. The OB Anesthesia Division members are highly focused on pain management both during and after delivery through well-maintained follow-up and feedback gathering processes.
