Meginnis, MS, CRNA, is a full-time CRNA in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Along with her clinical responsibilities, Mrs. Meginnis is the lead CRNA of Clinical Orientation and Special Projects. Since assuming this role, she has developed a comprehensive orientation and mentoring program that is designed to promote workplace satisfaction and connections by providing new staff with necessary tools and experiences, while simultaneously increasing safety, productivity, and commitment. Mrs. Meginnis also manages the CRNA shadowing program, which offers the opportunity to observe CRNAs in their daily practice to provide an understanding of the profession to students, nurses, and other professionals considering this career choice.
Mrs. Meginnis obtained her bachelors of science in nursing from Indiana State University, where she graduated with honors, and her master of science in nurse anesthesia from Wolford College in Naples, Florida. Mrs. Meginnis was also inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International, the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Sigma Lambda, and the Mortar Board Society. Before entering the field of anesthesia, she obtained nursing experience in cardiovascular surgical and trauma intensive care units. She is currently a participant in the Maryland Association of Nurse Anesthetists Education Committee.
