John Goelz, MSN, CRNA, has a diverse educational background. He graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a bachelor of science in international economics in 1987. He later pursued graduate studies in business administration at Penn State University and medieval history at Catholic University. John began his career in nursing in 1995 after receiving a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University’s accelerated nursing program. He worked at various hospitals in the Baltimore and Washington area developing extensive experience in all areas of adult critical care nursing as a staff member and agency nurse. Then, in 2009, he earned his master of science in nurse anesthesia from Virginia Commonwealth University. John began his nurse anesthesia career at Fairfax Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center, delivering anesthesia to both adult and pediatric populations in all areas of anesthesia care. In 2012, he began working at Johns Hopkins Hospital as an independent contractor. In 2015, he joined Johns Hopkins as a staff anesthetist and now works in all areas of adult anesthesia. He enjoys precepting students and working in the facilitator role.
