Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Julianna Provost has worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Johns Hopkins PICU since January of 2015. She cares for 4 to 8 patients at a time in conjunction with an attending physician and clinical fellows. Some of her duties include conducting physical examinations, forming a treatment plan, prescribing medications, inserting central lines, and intubating patients. She is still new to the PICU but hopes to begin working on quality improvement projects regarding patient transitions from the emergency department to the PICU and from the PICU to the patient floors. Ms. Provost was inspired to go into nursing by her grandmother, who was a World War II nurse and received the Florence Nightingale award.
Julianna received her undergraduate degree in 2010 from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY, and a master’s degree in acute care from Vanderbilt University in August of 2014.
