Courtney Masear, MD, Assistant Professor, Division of Obstetric, Gynecologic and Fetal Anesthesiology

Courtney Masear completed her undergraduate studies at Princeton University and continues on to Johns Hopkins for medical school. Her path to anesthesiology began when she was a medical student and did a rotation in the department and loved her experience. She enjoyed the procedural aspects of the specialty as well as observing physiology in real-time.

After graduating from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2009, she completed her intern year in internal medicine across town at Mercy Medical Center and then came back to ACCM to start residency. She took a brief hiatus from clinical training to focus on research and completed residency this year.

While she enjoys all aspects of anesthesiology, her passion is for obstetric anesthesia. In her “hybrid” role, she is looking forward to spending part of the coming year receiving additional training up on Labor and Delivery. She is also interested in resident education and is excited to work with the fantastic residents in the department.
