Physician, educator and nationally recognized speaker, Chet Wyman is a member of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine for Johns Hopkins Medicine. Most recently he served as the Chief Medical Officer for Patient Safety & Quality.

Prior to joining the faculty at Bayview, Dr. Wyman served as the Chair of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at Franklin Square Hospital Center/MedStar Health where he pioneered many programs in the Baltimore/D.C. area including: Bloodless Medicine & Surgery, S.A.F.E. Discharge (Short Acting/Fast Emergence); Walking Epidurals for Labor; and Intraoperative Awareness Monitoring. Chet also served as the Executive Sponsor for implementation of the Operating Room Information System across the MedStar System.

Dr. Wyman went on to serve as the Vice President for Medical Affairs for the Frederick Memorial Healthcare System where he was responsible for Quality and Safety, Physician Relations, and Infection Prevention and Control.

Chet has been a leading advocate in patient safety and quality improvement and has developed and implemented information technologies to monitor and improve patient outcomes. Wyman has spoken both locally and nationally on many subjects in the field of Perioperative Medicine, Operating Room Management, Bloodless Medicine & Surgery and quality improvement. His current area of research is in Organization Fear and Human Behavior and its Impact on Organizational Behavior with a focus Quality and Safety. Dr. Wyman joined the Bayview ACCM team in 2007.
