Dr. Colletta Richards is a clinical associate in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine with Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She practices at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC) campus. She serves as the Remote Anesthesia Coordinator for JHBMC.
Dr. Richards’ clinical expertise lies in general anesthesia with concentration in remote anesthesia and pediatric anesthesia. She serves on the Professional Diversity Committee for the American Society of Anesthesiologists and has an interest in international anesthesia education for developing countries.
Dr. Richards received her BS in chemistry from California State University in Sacramento and went on to attend medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. While at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Dr. Richards completed two years of a general surgery residency before switching to a residency in anesthesiology. She continued her medical education at Georgetown University with a fellowship in pain management.
Dr. Richards is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Maryland Society of Anesthesiologists. She is Basic Life Support (BLS) certified and is an instructor of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). After completion of her residency, Dr. Richards worked for several years at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, before joining the Bayview Anesthesiology team in 2005.
